She is a member of the American Society of Bariatric Medicine and American Medical Association. She completed her fellowship training in Clinical Nutrition at the University of Chicago Hospitals. Her research areas during training focused on obesity and vitamin malabsorption. Dr. Deshmukh is board-certified in Internal Medicine and completed her residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago/Mercy Hospital Medicine.
